2026 Southeastern Regional Women’s and Girls’ Chess Championship – 9 May 2026

Eligibility:US Chess eligibility rules will apply for Women’s events. All women and girls are eligible for cash prizes, players from the 13 Southeastern states are eligible for titles.

Sections & Format:

• Women’s Championship Open (one section, all rated female players): EF $65 by April 30, $85 after, $100 on-site.
• Girls K-12 Championship (one section, all rated female scholastic players): EF $40 by April 30, $50 after, $60 on-site.
• Team Competition (Girls K-12 section only; no extra fee):
  Teams represent schools, chess clubs, or homeschool groups. Unlimited players per organization. The team’s score is the total of its top four players. Maximum of two teams per school/club/homeschool group (e.g., “North Fulton Academy A” and “North Fulton Academy B”). Team rosters must be declared at on-site check-in (or pre-submitted via email/online registration by May 7). Trophies/plaques to the top 5 teams.
  • Unrated: EF-$25 Women & Girls (one section)
  • Family & Friends (Rated): EF $35 (one section)

(Registration -free- for titled players)

Tie-break Systems(for trophies/stipends): 1. Head to Head 2. Standard US Chess tie break protocol will then apply.

Prizes ($5000+ Guaranteed!):

• Cash prizes: $2000-1000-500-200.
  Additional class prizes: Top Under 1800: $500-300-200; Top Senior (50+): $200.
• Trophies to top 5 individuals, top 5 in each grade group (K-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-12), all with 3.0+, plus top 5 teams.
• Women/Girls Unrated – (5 place trophies)
• Family & Friends: (40%EF-20%EF-10%EF)
• Olympic-sized medals for top women and girls from each of thirteen states:

(AL, AR, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN, TX, WV, VA).

• Plaque or trophy for top adult woman and top scholastic girl.
• Free registration prizes:
  • Adult champion to 2026 U.S. Women’s Open in Las Vegas June 10-11
  • Senior champion to 2026 Senior Open (likely during 2026 Caveman Chess Festival, Chicago)
  • Top Scholastic Girl to 2026 All-Girls National Championships, April 10-12
