Fall 2020 Antics Released!

Though way delayed due to the process of updating our website, the Fall 2020 Antics, edited by Scott Varagona, have been released! Through our new parallel game and antics viewer, you will be able to travel along with National Master Scott as he explains the positions that were the most fascinating last fall! The game viewer will allow you to cycle through the moves watching the games as they go, and with the antics viewer, you will get to read the comments and thoughts of our editor at each major step during the game. Side-by-side you will be able to learn much deeper than you would have ever been able to do online without having your 3D set beside you.

This quarter we see games from the unique 2020 Alabama State Chess Championships. Games that were held online proved to be just as interesting as the ones that preceded them on the board! Another game from chess.com along with an awesome and amusing antique are present here. Finally, there is an article on the Halloween Chess Tournament held by our affiliate the Madison City Chess League. Games from Scott Varagona, Faruk Ergin, Tom Denton, Charles Anthony, Roy Alexander, and Doug Strout are presented this quarter.

Finally, congratulations to Scott Wilhelm who won the photo of the quarter competition with his shot of the “king and queen” battling it out at the Halloween Chess Tournament in Madison, Alabama. His photo will be entered into another competition with the other photo of the quarter winners for a chance at the photo of the year title and an additional prize to be determined by the ACF board and awarded at the Alabama State Chess Championships!
