ANNOUNCING: The board of the Alabama Chess Federation has scheduled a series of 6 tournaments and one invitational championship event in connection to the Alabama Chess Grand Prix. There will be one tournament Grand Prix tournament a month from January through June open to all Alabama residents as of January 1st, 2021. You can play in one, or all six! There will be three sections (1800+, 1200-1799, and <1200) at each of these tournaments. Entry fees and prizes will be had at each tournament.
Points can be earned from placing in these tournaments and those points will count towards qualifying for the championship in July. The top point scorers from each section who qualify for the championship will get to participate in Alabama’s first EVER single-elimination, match-play style event. The winner of each section will receive a check, a trophy, and the title of first Alabama Online Grand Prix champion!
